Peshitta NT (literal)
PesNT(lit)
Vulgata Clementina (1592)
Vul
[1]An elder not rebuke but petition him as a father and to those who are young as your brothers [1]Seniorem ne increpaveris, sed obsecra ut patrem: juvenes, ut fratres:
[2]And elder women as mothers and those who are younger as your sisters in all purity [2]anus, ut matres: juvenculas, ut sorores in omni castitate:
[3]Widows you honor those who widows are indeed [3]viduas honora, quæ vere viduæ sunt.
[4]And if there is a widow who has to her children or children of children let them learn first that with children of their households they should be assigned and they should pay compensation to their parents this for is acceptable before Alaha [4]Si qua autem vidua filios, aut nepotes habet: discat primum domum suam regere, et mutuam vicem reddere parentibus: hoc enim acceptum est coram Deo.
[5]She but who truly a widow is and alone this one her hope upon Alaha is and continues in prayer and in supplication by night and by day [5]Quæ autem vere vidua est, et desolata, speret in Deum, et instet obsecrationibus, et orationibus nocte ac die.
[6]She but who worships the Arena dead is while she lives [6]Nam quæ in deliciis est, vivens mortua est.
[7]These things you shall command them that without fault they may be [7]Et hoc præcipe, ut irreprehensibiles sint.
[8]If a man for of those that his are and especially those who are children of the household of faith not takes care of this one has renounced to himself the faith and worse is than those who not are believers [8]Si quis autem suorum, et maxime domesticorum, curam non habet, fidem negavit, et est infideli deterior.
[9]You shall therefore choose a widow who is not less than sixty years who one the same husband had [9]Vidua eligatur non minus sexaginta annorum, quæ fuerit unius viri uxor,
[10]And is to her a testimony of works good if she has raised children if she has received strangers if she has washed the feet of the saints if she has relieved the afflicted if she has walked in every work good [10]in operibus bonis testimonium habens, si filios educavit, si hospitio recepit, si sanctorum pedes lavit, si tribulationem patientibus subministravit, si omne opus bonum subsecuta est.
[11]From widows but those who are younger avoid separate these for from The Messiah and seek to have a husband [11]Adolescentiores autem viduas devita: cum enim luxuriatæ fuerint in Christo, nubere volunt:
[12]And their judgment set is for they have rejected their faith former [12]habentes damnationem, quia primam fidem irritam fecerunt;
[13]They learn but also laziness while going around house to house and not only laziness but also to increase talking and to take up vanities and to talk whatever not is appropriate [13]simul autem et otiosæ discunt circuire domos: non solum otiosæ, sed et verbosæ, et curiosæ, loquentes quæ non oportet.
[14]Willing I am therefore that those younger ones may marry and bear children and lead their homes and not give to enemies not even one occasion of abuse [14]Volo ergo juniores nubere, filios procreare, matresfamilias esse, nullam occasionem dare adversario maledicti gratia.
[15]Until now for they have begun one [by] one to turn after Satan [15]Jam enim quædam conversæ sunt retro Satanam.
[16]If man believers or female believers have to them widows let them support them and not let them burden on the church that for those who widows are truly it may have enough [16]Si quis fidelis habet viduas, subministret illis, et non gravetur ecclesia: ut iis quæ vere viduæ sunt, sufficiat.
[17]Elders those that well are leading honor double deserve especially those who toil in the word and in teaching [17]Qui bene præsunt presbyteri, duplici honore digni habeantur: maxime qui laborant in verbo et doctrina.
[18]Say for the scriptures "not muzzle the ox while treading and deserves the laborer his wages [18]Dicit enim Scriptura: Non alligabis os bovi trituranti. Et: Dignus est operarius mercede sua.
[19]Against an elder an accusation not accept but upon the mouth of two or three witnesses [19]Adversus presbyterum accusationem noli recipere, nisi sub duobus aut tribus testibus.
[20]Those who sin before every person rebuke that also the rest of the people may fear [20]Peccantes coram omnibus argue: ut et ceteri timorem habeant.
[21]Testify I to you before Alaha and our Lord Ieshu The Messiah and His angels the chosen that these things you will observe and not let be prejudiced your mind for anything and not do anything by accepting of persons [21]Testor coram Deo et Christo Jesu, et electis angelis, ut hæc custodias sine præjudicio, nihil faciens in alteram partem declinando.
[22]Hands quickly on a man not lay and not share in the sins of strangers yourself keep in purity [22]Manus cito nemini imposueris, neque communicaveris peccatis alienis. Teipsum castum custodi.
[23]And from now on water not drink but wine a little do drink because of your stomach and because of your illness chronic [23]Noli adhuc aquam bibere, sed modico vino utere propter stomachum tuum, et frequentes tuas infirmitates.
[24]There are children of men whose sins known are and they precede them to the house of judgment and are which after them go [24]Quorumdam hominum peccata manifesta sunt, præcedentia ad judicium: quosdam autem et subsequuntur.
[25]In this way also works good known are and those that otherwise are be concealed not they can [25]Similiter et facta bona, manifesta sunt: et quæ aliter se habent, abscondi non possunt.
