[1]Trustworthy is the saying that if a man desires eldership a work good he desires |
[1]This saying is faithful, that if a man desire the presbyterate,ⓘ a good work he desireth. |
[2]And ought but to be an elder such that a fault not is found in him and be a husband of one woman which of vigilant mind and sober and orderly and loves strangers and is a teacher |
[2]But it behoveth that a presbyter be as that blame be not found in him; and that he be the husband of one wife; [a man] who is of a vigilant mind, chaste, and orderly, and a lover of guests, and instructful; |
[3]And not he transgresses concerning wine and not is swift his hand to strike but should be humble and not contentious neither loves money |
[3]And not a transgressor over wine, nor [one] whose hand hastens to strike; but he is to be gentle and not contentious, nor a lover of money; |
[4]And he leads his house well and holds his children in subjection in all purity |
[4]And [one who] ruleth his house well, holding his children in subjection with all purity. |
[5]If for the house of himself not he knows to lead well how? can he the church of Alaha lead |
[5]For if his own house he know not to rule well, how is he able to rule the church of Aloha? |
[6]Neither shall he be a youth of his discipleship lest he be lifted up and would fall into the judgment of Satan |
[6]Neither shall his discipleship be recent, lest he be lifted up, and fall into the judgment of Satana. |
[7]And there ought but that also testimony excellent be to him from outsiders lest he fall into shame and into the trap of Satan |
[7]But it is needful that he have also a good testimony from those without, that he may not fall into reproach, and into the net of Satana. |
[8]And also ministers in this way shall be pure and not should speak two things neither shall they be inclined to wine much nor love riches defiled |
[8]And also the ministersⓘ must be pure, not speaking doubly, not inclined to much wine, nor shall they love unclean gains. |
[9]But they should hold the mystery of the faith in a conscience pure |
[9]But they shall hold the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. |
[10]And those such should be proved first and then let them serve when they are without fault |
[10]And these are to be proved first, and then to minister, being without blame. |
[11]In this way also wives should be modest and will be alert in their minds and shall be faithful in every thing and not they should be ? slanderers |
[11]Thus also must the woman be chaste, and they shall be vigilant [in their] minds, and faithful in every thing; and they shall not be accusers. |
[12]Ministers shall be he who one woman has to him and leads his children and his house well |
[12]The ministersⓘ shall be [of them] severally who have one wife, and shall rule each his children and his household well. |
[13]Those for who serve well a rank good purchase for themselves and opening of face much in the faith of Ieshu The Messiah |
[13]For they who minister well, a good degree acquire for themselves, and much openness of face in the faith of Jeshu Meshiha. |
[14]These things have written I to you while hope I that soon shall come I to you |
[14]These I write to thee, hoping soon to come to thee; |
[15]And if it is but that delay I that you may know how it is necessary to behave in the household of Alaha which is the church of Alaha The Living the pillar and foundation of the truth |
[15]But if I should delay, that thou mayest know how to converse in the house of Aloha, which is the church of Aloha the Living, the column and foundation of the truth. |
[16]And truly great is mystery this of righteousness which was revealed in the flesh and was justified in The Spirit and He appeared to angels and was preached among the nations and He was trusted in the world and He ascended into the glory |
[16]And truly great is this mystery of righteousness,ⓘ which was revealed in the flesh, and justified by the Spirit, and seen of angels, and preached among the peoples, and believed in the world, and taken up into glory. |
