[1]For every chief priest -- out of men taken -- in behalf of men is set in things [pertaining] to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins, |
[1]Every High priest for who from children of men was for the sake of men is appointed over the things that of Alaha are to present offerings and sacrifices for the sake of sin |
[2]able to be gentle to those ignorant and going astray, since himself also is compassed with infirmity; |
[2]He who can humble himself and suffer with those who not know and the erring because that also he in weakness is clothed |
[3]and because of this infirmity he ought, as for the people, so also for himself to offer for sins; |
[3]For his sake owes a debt he that as for the sake of people in this way also for the sake of himself to present for his sins |
[4]and no one to himself doth take the honour, but he who is called by God, as also Aaron: |
[4]And not it was for himself a man took the honor but he who was called from Alaha just as Aaron |
[5]so also the Christ did not glorify himself to become chief priest, but He who spake unto him: `My Son thou art, I to-day have begotten thee;' |
[5]So also The Messiah not did His Soul glorify to be High Priest but He Who said to Him "My Son You are I today I have begotten You |
[6]as also in another [place] He saith, `Thou [art] a priest -- to the age, according to the order of Melchisedek;' |
[6]As that also in place another He said "You are a Priest to eternity in the image of Melkizedeq |
[7]who in the days of his flesh both prayers and supplications unto Him who was able to save him from death -- with strong crying and tears -- having offered up, and having been heard in respect to that which he feared, |
[7]Also while in flesh clothed He was prayers and supplications in shouting strong and in tears offered He to Him Who able was from death to give Him life and He was obeyed |
[8]through being a Son, did learn by the things which he suffered -- the obedience, |
[8]And while although The Son He is from the fear and the suffering which He endured He learned obedience |
[9]and having been made perfect, he did become to all those obeying him a cause of salvation age-during, |
[9]And in this way He was perfected and became to all those who obey Him The Cause of life eternal |
[10]having been addressed by God a chief priest, according to the order of Melchisedek, |
[10]And He was named from Alaha High Priest in the image of Melkizedeq |
[11]concerning whom we have much discourse and of hard explanation to say, since ye have become dull of hearing, |
[11]About Him but about this Melkizedeq much are to us discourse to say and it is hard to explain it because you are to you infirm in your hearing |
[12]for even owing to be teachers, because of the time, again ye have need that one teach you what [are] the elements of the beginning of the oracles of God, and ye have become having need of milk, and not of strong food, |
[12]Ought you for teachers to be because of the time to you in the teaching now but again need you to learn those things which are the letters primer of the first words of Alaha and you were to you in need of milk and not of food solid |
[13]for every one who is partaking of milk [is] unskilled in the word of righteousness -- for he is an infant, |
[13]Every person but whose food milk is not is acquainted in the word of righteousness because an infant he is |
[14]and of perfect men is the strong food, who because of the use are having the senses exercised, unto the discernment both of good and of evil. |
[14]For the mature is but food solid those who because they practice are instructed in their senses to distinguish good and evil |
