[1]And it was that when He was praying in a place certain when He had finished said to Him one of His disciples our Lord teach us to pray Just as that also Yokhanan taught his disciples |
[1]AND it was that while he was praying in a certain place, when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, Our Lord, teach us to pray as also Juchanon taught his disciples. |
[2]Said to them Ieshu when pray you thus you shall be saying our Father Who are in heaven |
[2]Jeshu said to them, When you pray, thus be saying, Our Father who [art] in the heavens, be sanctified thy name. Come thy kingdom. Be done thy will as in the heavens also upon earth. |
[3]Hallowed be Your Name let come Your Kingdom let be done Your will as that in Heaven also in the earth give to us the bread of our need every day |
[3]Give to us the bread of our need every day, |
[4]And forgive to us our sins even we for we forgive all who are indebted to us and not lead us to temptation but save us from the evil one |
[4]And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive all who are indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil. |
[5]And He said to them who is? among you who has to him a friend and will go to him at mid- -night and will say to him my friend lend me three loaves |
[5]And he said to them, Who of you that has a friend, and shall go to him at midnight,ⓘ and shall say to him, My friend, lend me three loaves, |
[6]Because a friend has come to me from the road and there is not to me anything that I may set before him |
[6]Because a friend has come to me from the way, and I have nothing to set to him? |
[7]And he his friend from within will answer and will say to him not disturb me for behold the door bolted is and my children with me in bed not can I arise and give to you |
[7]And that friend from within shall answer and say unto him, Disturb me not, for the door is shut, and my children are with me in bed: I cannot rise and give to you. |
[8]Say I to you that if because of friendship not he will give to him because of his persistence he will arise and he will give to him as much as he needs to him |
[8]I tell you if for friendship's sake he will not give him, [yet] because of importunity he will arise and give him as many as he needeth. |
[9]Also I saying am to you ask and it shall be given to you seek and you shall find knock and it will be opened to you |
[9]I say also to you, Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. |
[10]Everyone for who asks receives and whoever seeks finds and whoever knocks it is opened to him |
[10]For every one who asketh receiveth, and who seeketh findeth, and who knocketh hath it opened to him. |
[11]Which? for of you is a father will ask him whose son for bread will? a stone he hand him and if a fish he will ask of him will? instead of a fish a snake he hand him |
[11]For what father [is there] among you who, if his son shall ask bread, will reach to him a stone? or should he ask a fish, how instead of a fish will he reach to him a serpent? |
[12]And if an egg he would ask of him would? he a scorpion hand him |
[12]Or if an egg he shall ask, will he a scorpion reach to him? |
[13]And if you who evil are knowing you are gifts good to give to your children how much? more your Father from Heaven will give the Spirit of Holiness to those who ask Him |
[13]And if you, who are evil, know to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father from the heavens give the Spirit of Holiness to those who ask him! |
[14]And when He was casting out a demon that was making mute it was that when went out that demon spoke that mute and were astonished the crowds |
[14]AND he was casting out a demon which was dumb; and when he had cast out the demon, the dumb spake, and the multitudes wondered. |
[15]Men but among them said by Beelzebub the chief of devils exorcizes This One devils |
[15]But some from them said, By Beelzebub, the prince of the devils, he casteth out devils; |
[16]Others but then were testing Him a sign from Heaven asking they were Him |
[16]While others, tempting him, the sign from heaven demanded of him. |
[17]Ieshu but because knew He their thoughts He said to them every realm that is divided against itself will be laid waste and a home that against its nature is divided falls |
[17]But Jeshu, who knew their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom which is divided against itself will be desolated; and a house that against its own self is divided falleth; |
[18]And if Satan against himself is divided how? will stand his kingdom for say you that by Beelzebub cast out I devils |
[18]And if Satana against himself be divided, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say that through Beelzebub I cast out devils. |
[19]And if I by Beelzebub exorcizing am devils your children by whom? are they exorcizing because of this they will be to you judges |
[19]But if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, your sons, by what do they cast [them] out? On account of this they shall be your judges. |
[20]If but by the finger of Alaha cast out I devils has come near it unto you the Kingdom of Alaha |
[20]But if by the finger of Aloha I cast out devils, there hath drawn nigh upon you the kingdom of Aloha. |
[21]Whenever a strong man while armed keeps his homestead in peace is his property |
[21]When the strong one armed keepeth his court, his possession is in peace; |
[22]If but will come one who is stronger than he to overpower him all his weapons takes he in which trusting he was on them and his spoil he divides |
[22]But if a stronger than he shall come, he shall overcome him; all his armour he taketh on which he depended, and he divideth his spoils. |
[23]Whoever not was with Me against Me is and whoever not gathers with Me to scatter is scattering |
[23]He who is not with me is against me; and he who does not collect with me, by scattering he scattereth. |
[24]A spirit vile whenever it has gone out from a son of man it goes traveling around in places of which water there is not in them to seek for it rest and whenever not it finds it says I shall return to my house from where I came out |
[24]The unclean spirit, when he hath gone out from a son of man, goeth about through regions which have no waters in them, because he seeketh to him rest. And when he cannot find it he saith, I will return to my house from whence I went out. |
[25]And if it comes it finds it swept and decorated |
[25]And when he cometh he findeth it swept and ornamented. |
[26]Then it goes bringing seven spirits other which are more evil than it and are entering and dwelling there and shall be the end of son of man that worse than his beginning |
[26]Then he goeth, taketh seven other spirits who are more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last of that man is worseⓘ than his first. |
[27]And while these things speaking He was raised woman one her voice from the crowd and she said to Him its blessing to the womb that carried You and to the breasts that suckled You |
[27]AND while he spake these words, a certain woman lifted up her voice from the crowd, and said to him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the breasts which thou hast sucked! |
[28]Said to her He their blessing to those who have heard the word of Alaha and keep it |
[28]He said to her, Blessed are they who hear the word of Aloha and keep it. |
[29]And when assembling were the crowds He began to say generation this wicked a sign seeks and a sign not shall be given to it but the sign of Yonan the prophet |
[29]And when the assemblies had gathered together, he began to say, This evil generation requireth a sign; but no sign shall be given to it save the sign of Jaunon the prophet. |
[30]Just as for was Yonan a sign to the Ninevites thus shall be also The Son of Man to generation this |
[30]For as was Jaunon a sign to the Ninvoyee, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. |
[31]The queen of the south shall stand in judgment with the people of generation this and she shall condemn them for she came from the far side of the land that she might hear the wisdom of Solomon and behold He Who is greater than Solomon is here |
[31]The queen of the south shall rise in judgment with the men of this generation, and shall condemn them; for she came from the confines of the earth to hear the wisdom of Shelemun, and, lo, a greater than Shelemun is here. |
[32]The men the Ninevites will rise in judgment with generation this and they shall condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Yonan and behold He Who is greater than Yonan is here |
[32]The men of Ninevehⓘ shall rise in judgment with this generation and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jaunon, and, lo, a greater than Jaunon is here. |
[33]No man lights a lamp and sets it in a hidden place or under a bushel but over from a lampstand that those who enter may see its light |
[33]No man lighteth a lamp and setteth it in a secret [place] or under a measure, but upon a candlestick, that they who enter may see the light of it. |
[34]The lamp of the body is your eye when therefore your eye is clear also whole your body shall be illuminated if but it should be evil also your body shall be darkened |
[34]The lamp of thy body is thine eye; when therefore thine eye is simple, thy whole body also will be illuminated; but if it be evil, thy body also will be darkness. |
[35]Take care therefore lest the light that is in you darkness is |
[35]Beware, therefore, lest the light that is in thee become darkness. |
[36]If but your body entire is enlightened and there is not in it part any darkened it shall be shining entirely like a lamp in its flame gives light to you |
[36]But if thy whole body be illuminated, and no part whatever in it be darkness, the whole will be light, as when a lamp with its flame enlighteneth thee. |
[37]While but He was speaking requested of Him Pharisee one that He would dine with him and He entered He reclined |
[37]AND as he was speaking, a certain Pharisha requested of him to dine with him, and he went in to recline. |
[38]That but Pharisee when he saw Him he was amazed that not first He washed from before His dinner |
[38]But he, the Pharisha, when he saw him, wondered that he had not first washed before his dinner. |
[39]Said to him but Ieshu now you Pharisees the outside of the cup and the dish cleansing are inside some of you but are full of rape and wickedness |
[39]But Jeshu said to him, Now you Pharishee cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, but within you are full of rapine and wickedness. |
[40]Ones lacking intellect not? has The One Who made the outside also the inside He made |
[40]Wanting in understanding! did not he who made that which is without, make also that which is within? |
[41]However whatever you have give it in alms and behold everything pure is to you |
[41]But of whatever there is, give in alms, and, behold, every thing is clean to you. |
[42]But woe! to you Pharisees for tithe you mint and dill and every herb and pass on you over justice and over the love of Alaha these but necessary it was for you to do and those not you should forsake |
[42]But woe to you, Pharishee! for you tithe mint, and rue, and every herb, and pass by judgment and the love of Aloha. These hath it behoved you to do, and those not to have omitted. |
[43]Woe! to you Pharisees who love you first class seats in the synagogues and greetings in the streets |
[43]Woe to you, Pharishee! for you love the chief seats in the assemblies, and the salutation in the public places. |
[44]Woe! to you Scribes and Pharisees accepters of faces who are as tombs that not are known and children of men walk over them and not know |
[44]Woe to you, scribes and Pharishee, hypocrites! for you are like tombs that are not known, and men walk upon them, and do not know. |
[45]And answered one from the Scribes and he said to Him Teacher when these things say You also us insult You |
[45]And one of the Sophree answered and said to him, Doctor, while you say these things, you vilify us also! |
[46]He but said also to you Scribes woe! for load you the children of men with burdens heavy and you with one of your fingers not touch you those burdens |
[46]But he said, Also unto you, Sophree, woe! because you lade men with heavy burdens, and you with one of your fingers will not touch those burdens. |
[47]Woe! to you who building are the tombs of the prophets for your fathers murdered them |
[47]Woe to you! for you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed: |
[48]Testify you therefore and approve you the deeds of your fathers for they murdered them and you building are their tombs |
[48]Thus you bear witness that you consent in the deeds of your fathers; for they killed them, and you build their sepulchres. |
[49]Because of this also the Wisdom of Alaha said behold I am sending to them prophets and apostles some of them they shall persecute and they shall murder |
[49]ON this account also Wisdom saith, Behold, I will send to them prophets and apostles; and of them they will persecute and kill; |
[50]So that shall be required the blood of all the prophets that was shed from when was created the world of generation this |
[50]That the blood of all the prophets which hath been shed from the creation of the world may be required from this generation. |
[51]From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zechariah he who was killed between the temple and the altar yes say I to you that it shall be required from generation this |
[51]From the blood of Habil unto the blood of Zakaria who was killed between the temple and the altar: yes, I tell you, It shall be required of this generation. |
[52]Woe to you Scribes because you have taken the keys of knowledge you not have entered and those who were entering you have hindered |
[52]Woe to you, Sophree; for you have taken away the key of knowledge; you enter not in [yourselves], and they who are entering you prohibit. |
[53]And when these things said He to them began the Scribes and the Pharisees to be offended at them and they were angered and they disparaged His words |
[53]And while he spoke these [words] to them, the Sophree and Pharishee began to be displeased, and they were wrathful, and controverted his words, |
[54]And they acted deceitfully to Him in many things while they sought to seize on something from His mouth so that they would be able ? to accuse Him |
[54]And enticed him on many [points], seeking to lay hold on something from his mouth that they might be able to accuse him. |
