KJV+
[1]And the people murmured sinfully before the Lord; and the Lord heard them and was very angry; and fire was kindled among them from the Lord, and devoured a part of the camp. [1]And when the peopleH5971 complainedH596[H8693], it displeasedH7451[H241] the LORDH3068: and the LORDH3068 heardH8085[H8799] it; and his angerH639 was kindledH2734[H8799]; and the fireH784 of the LORDH3068 burntH1197[H8799] among them, and consumedH398[H8799] them that were in the uttermost partsH7097 of the campH4264.
[2]And the people cried to Moses: and Moses prayed to the Lord, and the fire was quenched. [2]And the peopleH5971 criedH6817[H8799] unto MosesH4872; and when MosesH4872 prayedH6419[H8691] unto the LORDH3068, the fireH784 was quenchedH8257.[H8799]
[3]And the name of that place was called Burning; for a fire was kindled among them from the Lord. [3]And he calledH7121[H8799] the nameH8034 of theH1931 placeH4725 TaberahH8404: because the fireH784 of the LORDH3068 burntH1197 among themH8804.
[4]And the mixed multitude among them lusted exceedingly; and they and the children of Israel sat down and wept and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? [4]And the mixt multitudeH628 that was amongH7130 them fell a lustingH183[H8694][H8378]: and the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 also weptH1058[H8799] againH7725[H8799], and saidH559[H8799], Who shall give us fleshH1320 to eatH398?[H8686]
[5]We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt freely; and the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the garlic, and the onions. [5]We rememberH2142[H8804] the fishH1710, which we did eatH398[H8799] in EgyptH4714 freelyH2600; the cucumbersH7180, and the melonsH20, and the leeksH2682, and the onionsH1211, and the garlickH7762:
[6]But now our soul is dried up; our eyes turn to nothing but to the manna. [6]But now our soulH5315 is dried awayH3002: there is nothing at all, besideH1115 this mannaH4478, before our eyesH5869.
[7]And the manna is as coriander seed, and the appearance of it the appearance of hoar-frost. [7]And the mannaH4478 was as corianderH1407 seedH2233, and the colourH5869 thereof as the colourH5869 of bdelliumH916.
[8]And the people went through the field, and gathered, and ground it in the mill, or pounded it in a mortar, and baked it in a pan, and made cakes of it; and the sweetness of it was as the taste of wafer made with oil. [8]And the peopleH5971 went aboutH7751[H8804], and gatheredH3950[H8804] it, and groundH2912[H8804] it in millsH7347, or beatH1743[H8804] it in a mortarH4085, and bakedH1310[H8765] it in pansH6517, and madeH6213[H8804] cakesH5692 of it: and the tasteH2940 of it was as the tasteH2940 of freshH3955 oilH8081.
[9]And when the dew came upon the camp by night, the manna came down upon it. [9]And when the dewH2919 fellH3381[H8800] upon the campH4264 in the nightH3915, the mannaH4478 fellH3381 upon itH8799.
[10]And Moses heard them weeping by their families, every one in his door: and the Lord was very angry; and the thing was evil in the sight of Moses. [10]Then MosesH4872 heardH8085[H8799] the peopleH5971 weepH1058[H8802] throughout their familiesH4940, every manH376 in the doorH6607 of his tentH168: and the angerH639 of the LORDH3068 was kindledH2734[H8799] greatlyH3966; MosesH4872 also was displeasedH7489[H8804].[H5869]
[11]And Moses said to the Lord, Why hast thou afflicted thy servant, and why have I not found grace in thy sight, that thou shouldest lay the weight of this people upon me? [11]And MosesH4872 saidH559[H8799] unto the LORDH3068, Wherefore hast thou afflictedH7489[H8689] thy servantH5650? and wherefore have I not foundH4672[H8804] favourH2580 in thy sightH5869, that thou layestH7760[H8800] the burdenH4853 of all this people upon meH5971?
[12]Have I conceived all this people, or have I born them? that thou sayest to me, Take them into thy bosom, as a nurse would take her suckling, into the land which thou swarest to their fathers? [12]Have I conceivedH2029[H8804] all this peopleH5971? have I begottenH3205[H8804] them, that thou shouldest sayH559[H8799] unto me, CarryH5375[H8798] them in thy bosomH2436, as a nursing fatherH539[H8802] bearethH5375[H8799] the sucking childH3243[H8802], unto the landH127 which thou swarestH7650[H8738] unto their fathersH1?
[13]Whence have I flesh to give to all this people? for they weep to me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat. [13]WhenceH370 should I have fleshH1320 to giveH5414[H8800] unto all this peopleH5971? for they weepH1058[H8799] unto me, sayingH559[H8800], GiveH5414[H8798] us fleshH1320, that we may eatH398.[H8799]
[14]I shall not be able to bear this people alone, for this thing is too heavy for me. [14]I am not ableH3201[H8799] to bearH5375[H8800] all this peopleH5971 aloneH905, because it is too heavy for meH3515.
[15]And if thou doest thus to me, slay me utterly, if I have found favour with thee, that I may not see my affliction. [15]And if thou dealH6213[H8802] thus with me, killH2026[H8798] me, I pray thee, out of handH2026[H8800], if I have foundH4672[H8804] favourH2580 in thy sightH5869; and let me not seeH7200[H8799] my wretchednessH7451.
[16]And the Lord said to Moses, Gather me seventy men from the elders of Israel, whom thou thyself knowest that they are the elders of the people, and their scribes; and thou shalt bring them to the tabernacle of witness, and they shall stand there with thee. [16]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872, GatherH622[H8798] unto me seventyH7657 menH376 of the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478, whom thou knowestH3045[H8804] to be the eldersH2205 of the peopleH5971, and officersH7860[H8802] over them; and bringH3947[H8804] them unto the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150, that they may standH3320 there with theeH8694.
[17]And I will go down, and speak there with thee; and I will take of the spirit that is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear together with thee the burden of the people, and thou shalt not bear them alone. [17]And I will come downH3381[H8804] and talkH1696[H8765] with thee there: and I will takeH680[H8804] of the spiritH7307 which is upon thee, and will putH7760[H8804] it upon them; and they shall bearH5375[H8804] the burdenH4853 of the peopleH5971 with thee, that thou bearH5375 it not thyself aloneH8799.
[18]And to the people thou shalt say, Purify yourselves for the morrow, and ye shall eat flesh; for ye wept before the Lord, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: and the Lord shall allow you to eat flesh, and ye shall eat flesh. [18]And sayH559[H8799] thou unto the peopleH5971, SanctifyH6942[H8690] yourselves against to morrowH4279, and ye shall eatH398[H8804] fleshH1320: for ye have weptH1058[H8804] in the earsH241 of the LORDH3068, sayingH559[H8800], Who shall give us fleshH1320 to eatH398[H8686]? for it was wellH2895[H8804] with us in EgyptH4714: therefore the LORDH3068 will giveH5414[H8804] you fleshH1320, and ye shall eatH398.[H8804]
[19]Ye shall not eat one day, nor two, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days; [19]Ye shall not eatH398[H8799] oneH259 dayH3117, nor two daysH3117, nor fiveH2568 daysH3117, neither tenH6235 daysH3117, nor twentyH6242 daysH3117;
[20]ye shall eat for a full month, until the flesh come out at your nostrils; and it shall be nausea to you, because ye disobeyed the Lord, who is among you, and wept before him, saying, What had we to do to come out of Egypt? [20]But even a whole monthH2320[H3117], until it come outH3318[H8799] at your nostrilsH639, and it be loathsomeH2214 unto you: becauseH3282 that ye have despisedH3988[H8804] the LORDH3068 which is amongH7130 you, and have weptH1058[H8799] beforeH6440 him, sayingH559[H8800], Why came we forthH3318[H8804] out of EgyptH4714?
[21]And Moses said, The people among whom I am are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou saidst, I will give them flesh to eat, and they shall eat a whole month. [21]And MosesH4872 saidH559[H8799], The peopleH5971, amongH7130 whom I am, are sixH8337 hundredH3967 thousandH505 footmenH7273; and thou hast saidH559[H8804], I will giveH5414[H8799] them fleshH1320, that they may eatH398[H8804] a wholeH3117 monthH2320.
[22]Shall sheep and oxen be slain for them, and shall it suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, and shall it suffice them? [22]Shall the flocksH6629 and the herdsH1241 be slainH7819[H8735] for them, to sufficeH4672[H8804] them? or shall all the fishH1709 of the seaH3220 be gathered togetherH622[H8735] for them, to sufficeH4672 themH8804?
[23]And the Lord said to Moses, Shall not the hand of the Lord be fully sufficient? now shalt thou know whether my word shall come to pass to thee or not. [23]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872, Is the LORD'SH3068 handH3027 waxed shortH7114[H8799]? thou shalt seeH7200[H8799] now whether my wordH1697 shall come to passH7136 unto thee or notH8799.
[24]And Moses went out, and spoke the words of the Lord to the people; and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and he set them round about the tabernacle. [24]And MosesH4872 went outH3318[H8799], and toldH1696[H8762] the peopleH5971 the wordsH1697 of the LORDH3068, and gatheredH622[H8799] the seventyH7657 menH376 of the eldersH2205 of the peopleH5971, and setH5975[H8686] them round aboutH5439 the tabernacleH168.
[25]And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy men that were elders; and when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied and ceased. [25]And the LORDH3068 came downH3381[H8799] in a cloudH6051, and spakeH1696[H8762] unto him, and tookH680[H8686] of the spiritH7307 that was upon him, and gaveH5414[H8799] it unto the seventyH7657 eldersH2205[H376]: and it came to pass, that, when the spiritH7307 restedH5117[H8800] upon them, they prophesiedH5012[H8691], and did not ceaseH3254.[H8804]
[26]And there were two men left in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Modad; and the spirit rested upon them, and these were of the number of them that were enrolled, but they did not come to the tabernacle; and they prophesied in the camp. [26]But there remainedH7604[H8735] twoH8147 of the menH582 in the campH4264, the nameH8034 of the oneH259 was EldadH419, and the nameH8034 of the otherH8145 MedadH4312: and the spiritH7307 restedH5117[H8799] upon them; and they were of them that were writtenH3789[H8803], but went not outH3318[H8804] unto the tabernacleH168: and they prophesiedH5012[H8691] in the campH4264.
[27]And a young man ran and told Moses, and spoke, saying, Eldad and Modad prophesy in the camp. [27]And there ranH7323[H8799] a young manH5288, and toldH5046[H8686] MosesH4872, and saidH559[H8799], EldadH419 and MedadH4312 do prophesyH5012[H8693] in the campH4264.
[28]And Joshua the son of Naue, who attended on Moses, the chosen one, said, My lord Moses, forbid them. [28]And JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126, the servantH8334[H8764] of MosesH4872, one of his young menH979, answeredH6030[H8799] and saidH559[H8799], My lordH113 MosesH4872, forbidH3607 themH8798.
[29]And Moses said to him, Art thou jealous on my account? and would that all the Lord's people were prophets; whenever the Lord shall put his spirit upon them. [29]And MosesH4872 saidH559[H8799] unto him, EnviestH7065[H8764] thou for my sake? would God that all theH5414[H8799] LORD'SH3068 peopleH5971 were prophetsH5030, and that the LORDH3068 would putH5414[H8799] his spirit upon themH7307!
[30]And Moses departed into the camp, himself and the elders of Israel. [30]And MosesH4872 gatH622[H8735] him into the campH4264, he and the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478.
[31]And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails over from the sea; and it brought them down upon the camp a day's journey on this side, and a day's journey on that side, round about the camp, as it were two cubits from the earth. [31]And there went forthH5265[H8804] a windH7307 from the LORDH3068, and broughtH1468[H8799] quailsH7958 from the seaH3220, and let them fallH5203[H8799] by the campH4264, as it were a day'sH3117 journeyH1870 on this sideH3541, and as it were a day'sH3117 journeyH1870 on the other sideH3541, round aboutH5439 the campH4264, and as it were two cubitsH520 high upon the faceH6440 of the earthH776.
[32]And the people rose up all the day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered quails; he that gathered least, gathered ten measures; and they refreshed themselves round about the camp. [32]And the peopleH5971 stood upH6965[H8799] all that dayH3117, and all that nightH3915, and all the nextH4283 dayH3117, and they gatheredH622[H8799] the quailsH7958: he that gathered leastH4591[H8688] gatheredH622[H8804] tenH6235 homersH2563: and they spreadH7849[H8799] them all abroadH7849[H8800] for themselves round aboutH5439 the campH4264.
[33]The flesh was yet between their teeth, before it failed, when the Lord was wroth with the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague. [33]And while the fleshH1320 was yetH2962 between their teethH8127, ere it was chewedH3772[H8735], the wrathH639 of the LORDH3068 was kindledH2734[H8804] against the peopleH5971, and the LORDH3068 smoteH5221[H8686] the peopleH5971 with a veryH3966 greatH7227 plagueH4347.
[34]And the name of that place was called the Graves of Lust; for there they buried the people that lusted. [34]And he calledH7121[H8799] the nameH8034 of that placeH4725 KibrothhattaavahH6914: because there they buriedH6912[H8804] the peopleH5971 that lustedH183.[H8693]
[35]The people departed from the Graves of Lust to Aseroth; and the people halted at Aseroth. [35]And the peopleH5971 journeyedH5265[H8804] from KibrothhattaavahH6914 unto HazerothH2698; and abode at HazerothH2698.
