| [1]Moreover the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto me, sayingH559,[H8800] |
[1]Moreover, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, |
| [2]Now, thou sonH1121 of manH120, wilt thou judgeH8199[H8799], wilt thou judgeH8199[H8799] the bloodyH1818 cityH5892? yea, thou shalt shewH3045[H8689] her all her abominationsH8441. |
[2]Now thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge this bloody city? Wilt thou show her all her abominations? |
| [3]Then sayH559[H8804] thou, Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069, The cityH5892 sheddethH8210[H8802] bloodH1818 in the midstH8432 of it, that her timeH6256 may comeH935[H8800], and makethH6213[H8804] idolsH1544 against herself to defileH2930 herselfH8800. |
[3]Then say, Thus saith the Lord God, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to pollute herself. |
| [4]Thou art become guiltyH816[H8804] in thy bloodH1818 that thou hast shedH8210[H8804]; and hast defiledH2930[H8804] thyself in thine idolsH1544 which thou hast madeH6213[H8804]; and thou hast caused thy daysH3117 to draw nearH7126[H8686], and art comeH935[H8799] even unto thy yearsH8141: therefore have I madeH5414[H8804] thee a reproachH2781 unto the heathenH1471, and a mockingH7048 to all countriesH776. |
[4]Thou hast offended in thy blood, that thou hast shed, and hast polluted thyself in thine idols, which thou hast made, and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come unto thy term: therefore have I made thee a reproach to the heathen, and a mocking to all countries. |
| [5]Those that be nearH7138, and those that be farH7350 from thee, shall mockH7046[H8691] thee, which art infamousH2931[H8034] and muchH7227 vexedH4103. |
[5]Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art vile in name and sore in affliction. |
| [6]Behold, the princesH5387 of IsraelH3478, every oneH376 were in thee to their powerH2220 to shedH8210[H8800] bloodH1818. |
[6]Behold, the princes of Israel everyone in thee was ready to his power, to shed blood. |
| [7]In thee have they set lightH7043[H8689] by fatherH1 and motherH517: in the midstH8432 of thee have they dealtH6213[H8804] by oppressionH6233 with the strangerH1616: in thee have they vexedH3238[H8689] the fatherlessH3490 and the widowH490. |
[7]In thee have they despised father and mother: in the midst of thee have they oppressed the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow. |
| [8]Thou hast despisedH959[H8804] mine holy thingsH6944, and hast profanedH2490[H8765] my sabbathsH7676. |
[8]Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast polluted my Sabbaths. |
| [9]In thee are menH582 that carry talesH7400 to shedH8210[H8800] bloodH1818: and in thee they eatH398[H8804] upon the mountainsH2022: in the midstH8432 of thee they commitH6213[H8804] lewdnessH2154. |
[9]In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: in thee are they that eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit abomination. |
| [10]In thee have they discoveredH1540[H8765] their fathers'H1 nakednessH6172: in thee have they humbledH6031[H8765] her that was set apartH5079 for pollutionH2931. |
[10]In thee have they discovered their father's shame: in thee have they vexed her that was polluted in her flowers. |
| [11]And oneH376 hath committedH6213[H8804] abominationH8441 with his neighbour'sH7453 wifeH802; and anotherH376 hath lewdlyH2154 defiledH2930[H8765] his daughter in lawH3618; and anotherH376 in thee hath humbledH6031[H8765] his sisterH269, his father'sH1 daughterH1323. |
[11]And everyone hath committed abomination with his neighbor's wife, and everyone hath wickedly defiled his daughter in law, and in thee hath every man forced his own sister, even his father's daughter. |
| [12]In thee have they takenH3947[H8804] giftsH7810 to shedH8210[H8800] bloodH1818; thou hast takenH3947[H8804] usuryH5392 and increaseH8636, and thou hast greedily gainedH1214[H8762] of thy neighboursH7453 by extortionH6233, and hast forgottenH7911[H8804] me, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. |
[12]In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood: thou hast taken usury and the increase, and thou hast defrauded thy neighbors by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God. |
| [13]Behold, therefore I have smittenH5221[H8689] mine handH3709 at thy dishonest gainH1215 which thou hast madeH6213[H8804], and at thy bloodH1818 which hath been in the midst of theeH8432. |
[13]Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hands upon thy covetousness that thou hast used, and upon the blood, which hath been in the midst of thee. |
| [14]Can thine heartH3820 endureH5975[H8799], or can thine handsH3027 be strongH2388[H8799], in the daysH3117 that I shall dealH6213[H8802] with thee? I the LORDH3068 have spokenH1696[H8765] it, and will doH6213 itH8804. |
[14]Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall have to do with thee? I the Lord have spoken it, and will do it. |
| [15]And I will scatterH6327[H8689] thee among the heathenH1471, and disperseH2219[H8765] thee in the countriesH776, and will consumeH8552[H8689] thy filthiness out of theeH2932. |
[15]And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will cause thy filthiness to cease from thee. |
| [16]And thou shalt take thine inheritanceH2490[H8738][H8676][H5157][H8765] in thyself in the sightH5869 of the heathenH1471, and thou shalt knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068. |
[16]And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the Lord. |
| [17]And the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto me, sayingH559,[H8800] |
[17]And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, |
| [18]SonH1121 of manH120, the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 is to me become drossH5509: all they are brassH5178, and tinH913, and ironH1270, and leadH5777, in the midstH8432 of the furnaceH3564; they are even the drossH5509 of silverH3701. |
[18]Son of man, the house of Israel is unto me as dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead in the midst of the furnace: they are even the dross of silver. |
| [19]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Because ye are all become drossH5509, behold, therefore I will gatherH6908[H8802] you into the midstH8432 of JerusalemH3389. |
[19]Therefore, thus saith the Lord God, Because ye are all as dross, behold, therefore I will gather you in the midst of Jerusalem. |
| [20]As they gatherH6910 silverH3701, and brassH5178, and ironH1270, and leadH5777, and tinH913, into the midstH8432 of the furnaceH3564, to blowH5301[H8800] the fireH784 upon it, to meltH5413[H8687] it; so will I gatherH6908[H8799] you in mine angerH639 and in my furyH2534, and I will leaveH3240[H8689] you there, and meltH5413 youH8689. |
[20]As they gather silver and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it to melt it, so will I gather you in mine anger and in my wrath, and will put you there and melt you. |
| [21]Yea, I will gatherH3664[H8765] you, and blowH5301[H8804] upon you in the fireH784 of my wrathH5678, and ye shall be meltedH5413[H8738] in the midst thereofH8432. |
[21]I will gather you, I say, and blow the fire of my wrath upon you, and you shall be melted in the midst thereof. |
| [22]As silverH3701 is meltedH2046 in the midstH8432 of the furnaceH3564, so shall ye be meltedH5413[H8714] in the midstH8432 thereof; and ye shall knowH3045[H8804] that I the LORDH3068 have poured outH8210[H8804] my fury upon youH2534. |
[22]As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof, and ye shall know, that I the Lord have poured out my wrath upon you. |
| [23]And the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto me, sayingH559,[H8800] |
[23]And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, |
| [24]SonH1121 of manH120, sayH559[H8798] unto her, Thou art the landH776 that is not cleansedH2891[H8794], nor rainedH1656 upon in the dayH3117 of indignationH2195. |
[24]Son of man, say unto her; Thou art the land that is unclean, and not rained upon in the day of wrath. |
| [25]There is a conspiracyH7195 of her prophetsH5030 in the midstH8432 thereof, like a roaringH7580[H8802] lionH738 raveningH2963[H8802] the preyH2964; they have devouredH398[H8804] soulsH5315; they have takenH3947[H8799] the treasureH2633 and precious thingsH3366; they have made her manyH7235[H8689] widowsH490 in the midst thereofH8432. |
[25]There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof like a roaring lion, ravening the prey: they have devoured souls: they have taken the riches and precious things: they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. |
| [26]Her priestsH3548 have violatedH2554[H8804] my lawH8451, and have profanedH2490[H8762] mine holy thingsH6944: they have put no differenceH914[H8689] between the holyH6944 and profaneH2455, neither have they shewedH3045[H8689] difference between the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889, and have hidH5956[H8689] their eyesH5869 from my sabbathsH7676, and I am profanedH2490[H8735] among themH8432. |
[26]Her priests have broken my law, and have defiled mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither discerned between the unclean, and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. |
| [27]Her princesH8269 in the midstH7130 thereof are like wolvesH2061 raveningH2963[H8802] the preyH2964, to shedH8210[H8800] bloodH1818, and to destroyH6[H8763] soulsH5315, to getH1214[H8800] dishonest gainH1215. |
[27]Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves, ravening the prey to shed blood, and to destroy souls for their own covetous lucre. |
| [28]And her prophetsH5030 have daubedH2902[H8804] them with untemperedH8602 morter, seeingH2374 vanityH7723, and diviningH7080[H8802] liesH3577 unto them, sayingH559[H8802], Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069, when the LORDH3068 hath not spokenH1696.[H8765] |
[28]And her prophets have daubed them with untempered mortar, seeing vanities, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord God, when the Lord had not spoken. |
| [29]The peopleH5971 of the landH776 have used oppressionH6231[H8804][H6233], and exercisedH1497[H8804] robberyH1498, and have vexedH3238[H8689] the poorH6041 and needyH34: yea, they have oppressedH6231[H8804] the strangerH1616 wrongfullyH4941. |
[29]The people of the land have violently oppressed by spoiling and robbing, and have vexed the poor and the needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger against right. |
| [30]And I soughtH1245[H8762] for a manH376 among them, that should make upH1443[H8802] the hedgeH1447, and standH5975[H8802] in the gapH6556 beforeH6440 me for the landH776, that I should not destroyH7843[H8763] it: but I foundH4672 noneH8804. |
[30]And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none. |
| [31]Therefore have I poured outH8210[H8799] mine indignationH2195 upon them; I have consumedH3615[H8765] them with the fireH784 of my wrathH5678: their own wayH1870 have I recompensedH5414[H8804] upon their headsH7218, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069. |
[31]Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them, and consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own ways have I rendered upon their heads, saith the Lord God. |
