| [2]And go thou out to the valei of the sones of Ennon, which is bisidis the entring of the erthene yate; and there thou schalt preche the wordis whiche Y schal speke to thee; |
[2]And go forthH3318[H8804] unto the valleyH1516 of the sonH1121 of HinnomH2011, which is by the entryH6607 of the eastH2777 gateH8179, and proclaimH7121[H8804] there the wordsH1697 that I shall tellH1696 theeH8762, |
| [3]and thou schalt seie, Kyngis of Juda, and the dwelleris of Jerusalem, here ye the word of the Lord. The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal bringe in turment on this place, so that ech man that herith it, hise eeris tyngle. |
[3]And sayH559[H8804], HearH8085[H8798] ye the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, O kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, and inhabitantsH3427[H8802] of JerusalemH3389; Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478; Behold, I will bringH935[H8688] evilH7451 upon this placeH4725, the which whosoever hearethH8085[H8802], his earsH241 shall tingleH6750.[H8799] |
| [4]For thei han forsake me, and maad alien this place, and offriden sacrifices to alien goddis ther ynne, whiche thei, and the fadris of hem, and the kingis of Juda, knewen not; and thei filliden this place with the blood of innocentis, |
[4]Because they have forsakenH5800[H8804] me, and have estrangedH5234[H8762] this placeH4725, and have burned incenseH6999[H8762] in it unto otherH312 godsH430, whom neither they nor their fathersH1 have knownH3045[H8804], nor the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, and have filledH4390[H8804] this placeH4725 with the bloodH1818 of innocentsH5355; |
| [5]and bildiden hiy thingis to Baalym, to brenne her sones in fier, in to brent sacrifice to Baalym; whiche thingis Y comaundide not, nether spak, nether tho stieden in to myn herte. |
[5]They have builtH1129[H8804] also the high placesH1116 of BaalH1168, to burnH8313[H8800] their sonsH1121 with fireH784 for burnt offeringsH5930 unto BaalH1168, which I commandedH6680[H8765] not, nor spakeH1696[H8765] it, neither cameH5927[H8804] it into my mindH3820: |
| [6]Therfor the Lord seith, Lo! daies comen, and this place schal no more be clepid Tophet, and the valei of the sone of Ennon, but the valei of sleyng. |
[6]Therefore, behold, the daysH3117 comeH935[H8802], saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068, that this placeH4725 shall no more be calledH7121[H8735] TophetH8612, nor The valleyH1516 of the sonH1121 of HinnomH2011, but The valleyH1516 of slaughterH2028. |
| [7]And Y schal distrie the councel of Juda and of Jerusalem in this place, and Y schal distrie hem bi swerd, in the siyt of her enemyes, and in the hond of men sekynge the lyues of hem; and Y schal yyue her deed bodies mete to the briddis of the eir, and to beestis of erthe. |
[7]And I will make voidH1238[H8804] the counselH6098 of JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389 in this placeH4725; and I will cause them to fallH5307[H8689] by the swordH2719 beforeH6440 their enemiesH341[H8802], and by the handsH3027 of them that seekH1245[H8764] their livesH5315: and their carcasesH5038 will I giveH5414[H8804] to be meatH3978 for the fowlsH5775 of the heavenH8064, and for the beastsH929 of the earthH776. |
| [8]And Y schal sette this citee in to wondring, and in to hissing; ech that passith bi it, schal wondre, and hisse on al the veniaunce therof. |
[8]And I will makeH7760[H8804] this cityH5892 desolateH8047, and an hissingH8322; every one that passethH5674[H8802] thereby shall be astonishedH8074[H8799] and hissH8319[H8799] because of all the plagues thereofH4347. |
| [9]And Y schal feede hem with the fleischis of her sones, and with the fleischis of her douytris; and ech man schal ete the fleischis of his frend in the bisegyng and angwisch, in which the enemyes of hem, and thei that seken the lyues of hem, schulen close hem togidere. |
[9]And I will cause them to eatH398[H8689] the fleshH1320 of their sonsH1121 and the fleshH1320 of their daughtersH1323, and they shall eatH398[H8799] every oneH376 the fleshH1320 of his friendH7453 in the siegeH4692 and straitnessH4689, wherewith their enemiesH341[H8802], and they that seekH1245[H8764] their livesH5315, shall straitenH6693 themH8686. |
| [10]And thou schalt al to-breke the potel bifore the iyen of the men, that schulen go with thee. |
[10]Then shalt thou breakH7665[H8804] the bottleH1228 in the sightH5869 of the menH582 that goH1980 with theeH8802, |
| [11]And thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, So Y schal al to-breke this puple, and this citee, as the vessel of a pottere is al to-brokun, which mai no more be restorid; and thei schulen be biried in Tophet, for noon other place is to birie. |
[11]And shalt sayH559[H8804] unto them, Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635; Even soH3602 will I breakH7665[H8799] this peopleH5971 and this cityH5892, as one breakethH7665[H8799] a potter'sH3335[H8802] vesselH3627, that cannotH3201[H8799] be made whole againH7495[H8736]: and they shall buryH6912[H8799] them in TophetH8612, till there be no placeH4725 to buryH6912.[H8800] |
| [12]So Y schal do to this place, seith the Lord, and to dwelleris therof, that Y sette this citee as Tophet. |
[12]Thus will I doH6213[H8799] unto this placeH4725, saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068, and to the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] thereof, and even makeH5414[H8800] this cityH5892 as TophetH8612: |
| [13]And the housis of Jerusalem, and the housis of the kingis of Juda, schulen be as the place of Tophet; alle the vncleene housis, in whose roouys thei sacrifieden to al the chyualrie of heuene, and offriden moist sacrifices to alien goddis. |
[13]And the housesH1004 of JerusalemH3389, and the housesH1004 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, shall be defiledH2931 as the placeH4725 of TophetH8612, because of all the housesH1004 upon whose roofsH1406 they have burned incenseH6999[H8765] unto all the hostH6635 of heavenH8064, and have poured outH5258[H8687] drink offeringsH5262 unto otherH312 godsH430. |
| [14]Forsothe Jeremye cam fro Tophet, whidur the Lord hadde sente hym for to profesie; and he stood in the porche of the hous of the Lord, |

| [15]and seide to al the puple, The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal bringe in on this citee, and on alle the citees therof, alle the yuelis whiche Y spak ayens it; for thei maden hard her nol, that thei herden not my wordis. |
[15]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478; Behold, I will bringH935[H8688] upon this cityH5892 and upon all her townsH5892 all the evilH7451 that I have pronouncedH1696[H8765] against it, because they have hardenedH7185[H8689] their necksH6203, that they might not hearH8085[H8800] my wordsH1697. |
