| [1]ουδεν αρα νυν κατακριμα τοις εν χριστω ιησου μη κατα σαρκα περιπατουσιν αλλα κατα πνευμα |
[1]There is therefore no condemnation, to them who, in Jesus Messiah, walk not after the flesh. |
| [2]ο γαρ νομος του πνευματος της ζωης εν χριστω ιησου ηλευθερωσεν με απο του νομου της αμαρτιας και του θανατου |
[2]For the law of the spirit of life, which is in Jesus Messiah, hath emancipated thee from the law of sin and death. |
| [3]το γαρ αδυνατον του νομου εν ω ησθενει δια της σαρκος ο θεος τον εαυτου υιον πεμψας εν ομοιωματι σαρκος αμαρτιας και περι αμαρτιας κατεκρινεν την αμαρτιαν εν τη σαρκι |
[3]Inasmuch as the law was impotent, by means of the weakness of the flesh, God sent his Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin; that He might, in his flesh, condemn sin; |
| [4]ινα το δικαιωμα του νομου πληρωθη εν ημιν τοις μη κατα σαρκα περιπατουσιν αλλα κατα πνευμα |
[4]so that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us; since it is not in the flesh that we walk, but in the Spirit. |
| [5]οι γαρ κατα σαρκα οντες τα της σαρκος φρονουσιν οι δε κατα πνευμα τα του πνευματος |
[5]For they who are in the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh: and they who are of the Spirit, do mind the things of the Spirit. |
| [6]το γαρ φρονημα της σαρκος θανατος το δε φρονημα του πνευματος ζωη και ειρηνη |
[6]For minding the things of the flesh, is death; but minding the things of the Spirit, is life and peace. |
| [7]διοτι το φρονημα της σαρκος εχθρα εις θεον τω γαρ νομω του θεου ουχ υποτασσεται ουδε γαρ δυναται |
[7]Because minding the things of the flesh, is enmity towards God: for it doth not subject itself to the law of God, because it is not possible. |
| [8]οι δε εν σαρκι οντες θεω αρεσαι ου δυνανται |
[8]And they who are in the flesh cannot Please God. |
| [9]υμεις δε ουκ εστε εν σαρκι αλλ εν πνευματι ειπερ πνευμα θεου οικει εν υμιν ει δε τις πνευμα χριστου ουκ εχει ουτος ουκ εστιν αυτου |
[9]Ye, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit; if the Spirit of God truly dwelleth in you. And if in any one there is not the Spirit of Messiah he is none of his. |
| [10]ει δε χριστος εν υμιν το μεν σωμα νεκρον δι αμαρτιαν το δε πνευμα ζωη δια δικαιοσυνην |
[10]But if Messiah is in you, the body is dead, in regard to sin; and the Spirit is alive in regard to righteousness. |
| [11]ει δε το πνευμα του εγειραντος ιησουν εκ νεκρων οικει εν υμιν ο εγειρας τον χριστον εκ νεκρων ζωοποιησει και τα θνητα σωματα υμων δια {VAR1: το ενοικουν αυτου πνευμα } {VAR2: του ενοικουντος αυτου πνευματος } εν υμιν |
[11]And if the Spirit of him, who raised our Lord Jesus Messiah from the dead, dwelleth in you; he who raised our Lord Jesus Messiah from the dead, will also vivify your dead bodies, because of his Spirit that dwelleth in you. |
| [12]αρα ουν αδελφοι οφειλεται εσμεν ου τη σαρκι του κατα σαρκα ζην |
[12]Now we are debtors, my Brethren, not to the flesh, that we should walk according to the flesh: |
| [13]ει γαρ κατα σαρκα ζητε μελλετε αποθνησκειν ει δε πνευματι τας πραξεις του σωματος θανατουτε ζησεσθε |
[13]- (For if ye live according to the flesh, ye are to die. But if, by the Spirit, ye mortify the practices of the body, ye will live. |
| [14]οσοι γαρ πνευματι θεου αγονται ουτοι εισιν υιοι θεου |
[14]For they who are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God :) |
| [15]ου γαρ ελαβετε πνευμα δουλειας παλιν εις φοβον αλλ ελαβετε πνευμα υιοθεσιας εν ω κραζομεν αββα ο πατηρ |
[15]For ye have not received the spirit of bondage, again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, by which we cry, Father, our Father. |
| [16]αυτο το πνευμα συμμαρτυρει τω πνευματι ημων οτι εσμεν τεκνα θεου |
[16]And this Spirit testifieth to our spirit, that we are the sons of God. |
| [17]ει δε τεκνα και κληρονομοι κληρονομοι μεν θεου συγκληρονομοι δε χριστου ειπερ συμπασχομεν ινα και συνδοξασθωμεν |
[17]And if sons, then heirs; heirs of God, and participators of the inheritance of Jesus Messiah: so that, if we suffer with him, we shall also be glorified with him. |
| [18]λογιζομαι γαρ οτι ουκ αξια τα παθηματα του νυν καιρου προς την μελλουσαν δοξαν αποκαλυφθηναι εις ημας |
[18]For I reckon, that the sufferings of the present time, are not comparable with the glory which is to be developed in us. |
| [19]η γαρ αποκαραδοκια της κτισεως την αποκαλυψιν των υιων του θεου απεκδεχεται |
[19]For the whole creation is hoping and waiting for the development of the sons of God. |
| [20]τη γαρ ματαιοτητι η κτισις υπεταγη ουχ εκουσα αλλα δια τον υποταξαντα επ ελπιδι |
[20]For the creation was subjected to vanity, not by its own choice, but because of him who subjected it, |
| [21]οτι και αυτη η κτισις ελευθερωθησεται απο της δουλειας της φθορας εις την ελευθεριαν της δοξης των τεκνων του θεου |
[21]in the hope, that also the creation itself would be emancipated from the bondage of corruption, into the liberty of the glory of the sons of God. |
| [22]οιδαμεν γαρ οτι πασα η κτισις συστεναζει και συνωδινει αχρι του νυν |
[22]For we know, that all the creatures are groaning and travailing in pain unto this day. |
| [23]ου μονον δε αλλα και αυτοι την απαρχην του πνευματος εχοντες και ημεις αυτοι εν εαυτοις στεναζομεν υιοθεσιαν απεκδεχομενοι την απολυτρωσιν του σωματος ημων |
[23]And not only they, but we also in whom are the first fruits of the Spirit, we groan within ourselves, and look anxiously for the adoption of sons, the redemption of our bodies. |
| [24]τη γαρ ελπιδι εσωθημεν ελπις δε βλεπομενη ουκ εστιν ελπις ο γαρ βλεπει τις τι και ελπιζει |
[24]Because we live in hope. But hope that is seen, is not hope: for if we saw it, how should we hope for it? |
| [25]ει δε ο ου βλεπομεν ελπιζομεν δι υπομονης απεκδεχομεθα |
[25]But if we hope for that which is not seen, we are in patient waiting. |
| [26]ωσαυτως δε και το πνευμα συναντιλαμβανεται ταις ασθενειαις ημων το γαρ τι προσευξωμεθα καθο δει ουκ οιδαμεν αλλ αυτο το πνευμα υπερεντυγχανει υπερ ημων στεναγμοις αλαλητοις |
[26]So also the Spirit aideth our weakness. For we know not what to pray for, in a proper manner; but the Spirit prayeth for us, with groans not expressible: |
| [27]ο δε ερευνων τας καρδιας οιδεν τι το φρονημα του πνευματος οτι κατα θεον εντυγχανει υπερ αγιων |
[27]and the explorer of hearts, he knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit; because he prayeth for the saints, agreeably to the good pleasure of God. |
| [28]οιδαμεν δε οτι τοις αγαπωσιν τον θεον παντα συνεργει εις αγαθον τοις κατα προθεσιν κλητοις ουσιν |
[28]And we know that he aideth him in all things, for good, who love God; them whom he predestined to be called. |
| [29]οτι ους προεγνω και προωρισεν συμμορφους της εικονος του υιου αυτου εις το ειναι αυτον πρωτοτοκον εν πολλοις αδελφοις |
[29]And he knew them, previously; and he sealed them with the likeness of the image of his Son; that He might be the first-born of many brothers. |
| [30]ους δε προωρισεν τουτους και εκαλεσεν και ους εκαλεσεν τουτους και εδικαιωσεν ους δε εδικαιωσεν τουτους και εδοξασεν |
[30]And those whom he previously sealed, them he called: and those whom he called, them he justified: and those whom he justified, them he glorified. |
| [31]τι ουν ερουμεν προς ταυτα ει ο θεος υπερ ημων τις καθ ημων |
[31]What then shall we say of these things? If God [is] for us; who [is] against us? |
| [32]ος γε του ιδιου υιου ουκ εφεισατο αλλ υπερ ημων παντων παρεδωκεν αυτον πως ουχι και συν αυτω τα παντα ημιν χαρισεται |
[32]And, if he spared not his Son, but gave him up for us all, how shall he not give us all things, with him? |
| [33]τις εγκαλεσει κατα εκλεκτων θεου θεος ο δικαιων |
[33]Who will set himself against the chosen of God? It is God who justifieth. |
| [34]τις ο κατακρινων χριστος ο αποθανων μαλλον δε και εγερθεις ος και εστιν εν δεξια του θεου ος και εντυγχανει υπερ ημων |
[34]Who is it that condemneth? Messiah died, and arose, and is on the right hand of God, and maketh intercession for us. |
| [35]τις ημας χωρισει απο της αγαπης του χριστου θλιψις η στενοχωρια η διωγμος η λιμος η γυμνοτης η κινδυνος η μαχαιρα |
[35]What will sever me from the love of Messiah? Will affliction? or distress? or persecution? or famine? or nakedness? or peril? or the sword? |
| [36]καθως γεγραπται οτι ενεκα σου θανατουμεθα ολην την ημεραν ελογισθημεν ως προβατα σφαγης |
[36]As it is written: For thy sake, we die daily: and, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. |
| [37]αλλ εν τουτοις πασιν υπερνικωμεν δια του αγαπησαντος ημας |
[37]But in all these things we are victorious, by means of him who loved us. |
| [38]πεπεισμαι γαρ οτι ουτε θανατος ουτε ζωη ουτε αγγελοι ουτε αρχαι ουτε δυναμεις ουτε ενεστωτα ουτε μελλοντα |
[38]For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, |
| [39]ουτε υψωμα ουτε βαθος ουτε τις κτισις ετερα δυνησεται ημας χωρισαι απο της αγαπης του θεου της εν χριστω ιησου τω κυριω ημων |
[39]nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, will be able to sever me from the love of God, which is in our Lord Jesus Messiah. |
