[1]And SaulH7586 spakeH1696[H8762] to JonathanH3129 his sonH1121, and to all his servantsH5650, that they should killH4191[H8687] DavidH1732.	[1]Then Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David: but Jonathan Saul's son had a great favor to David.
[2]But JonathanH3083 Saul'sH7586 sonH1121 delightedH2654[H8804] muchH3966 in DavidH1732: and JonathanH3083 toldH5046[H8686] DavidH1732, sayingH559[H8800], SaulH7586 my fatherH1 seekethH1245[H8764] to killH4191[H8687] thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heedH8104[H8734] to thyself until the morningH1242, and abideH3427[H8804] in a secretH5643 place, and hideH2244 thyselfH8738:	[2]And Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father goeth about to slay thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed unto thyself unto the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself.
[3]And I will go outH3318[H8799] and standH5975[H8804] besideH3027 my fatherH1 in the fieldH7704 where thou art, and I will communeH1696[H8762] with my fatherH1 of thee; and whatH4100 I seeH7200[H8804], that I will tellH5046 theeH8689.	[3]And I will go out, and stand by my father in the field where thou art, and will commune with my father of thee, and I will see what he saith, and will tell thee.
[4]And JonathanH3083 spakeH1696[H8762] goodH2896 of DavidH1732 unto SaulH7586 his fatherH1, and saidH559[H8799] unto him, Let not the kingH4428 sinH2398[H8799] against his servantH5650, against DavidH1732; because he hath not sinnedH2398[H8804] against thee, and because his worksH4639 have been to thee-ward veryH3966 goodH2896:	[4]And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David: for he hath not sinned against thee, but his works have been to thee very good.
[5]For he did putH7760[H8799] his lifeH5315 in his handH3709, and slewH5221[H8686] the PhilistineH6430, and the LORDH3068 wroughtH6213[H8799] a greatH1419 salvationH8668 for all IsraelH3478: thou sawestH7200[H8804] it, and didst rejoiceH8055[H8799]: wherefore then wilt thou sinH2398[H8799] against innocentH5355 bloodH1818, to slayH4191[H8687] DavidH1732 without a causeH2600?	[5]For he did put his life in danger, and slew the Philistine, and the Lord wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and thou rejoicest: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, and slay David without a cause?
[6]And SaulH7586 hearkenedH8085[H8799] unto the voiceH6963 of JonathanH3083: and SaulH7586 swareH7650[H8735], As the LORDH3068 livethH2416, he shall notH518 be slainH4191.[H8714]	[6]Then Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan, and Saul swear, As the Lord liveth, he shall not die.
[7]And JonathanH3083 calledH7121[H8799] DavidH1732, and JonathanH3083 shewedH5046[H8686] him all those thingsH1697. And JonathanH3083 broughtH935[H8686] DavidH1732 to SaulH7586, and he was in his presenceH6440, as in times pastH865.[H8032]	[7]So Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those words, and Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as in times past.
[8]And there was warH4421 againH3254[H8686]: and DavidH1732 went outH3318[H8799], and foughtH3898[H8735] with the PhilistinesH6430, and slewH5221[H8686] them with a greatH1419 slaughterH4347; and they fledH5127[H8799] from himH6440.	[8]Again the war began, and David went out and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter, and they fled from him.
[9]And the evilH7451 spiritH7307 from the LORDH3068 was upon SaulH7586, as he satH3427[H8802] in his houseH1004 with his javelinH2595 in his handH3027: and DavidH1732 playedH5059[H8764] with his handH3027.	[9]And the evil spirit of the Lord was upon Saul, as he sat in his house having his spear in his hand, and David played with his hand.
[10]And SaulH7586 soughtH1245[H8762] to smiteH5221[H8687] DavidH1732 even to the wallH7023 with the javelinH2595; but he slipped awayH6362[H8799] out of Saul'sH7586 presenceH6440, and he smoteH5221[H8686] the javelinH2595 into the wallH7023: and DavidH1732 fledH5127[H8804], and escapedH4422[H8735] that nightH3915.	[10]And Saul intended to smite David to the wall with the spear: but he turned aside out of Saul's presence, and he smote the spear against the wall: but David fled, and escaped the same night.
[11]SaulH7586 also sentH7971[H8799] messengersH4397 unto David'sH1732 houseH1004, to watchH8104[H8800] him, and to slayH4191[H8687] him in the morningH1242: and MichalH4324 David'sH1732 wifeH802 toldH5046[H8686] him, sayingH559[H8800], If thou saveH4422[H8764] not thy lifeH5315 to nightH3915, to morrowH4279 thou shalt be slainH4191.[H8716]	[11]Saul also sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David's wife told it him, saying, If thou save not thyself this night, tomorrow thou shalt be slain.
[12]So MichalH4324 letH3381 DavidH1732 downH3381[H8686] through a windowH2474: and he wentH3212[H8799], and fledH1272[H8799], and escapedH4422.[H8735]	[12]So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
[13]And MichalH4324 tookH3947[H8799] an imageH8655, and laidH7760[H8799] it in the bedH4296, and putH7760[H8804] a pillowH3523 of goats'H5795 hair for his bolsterH4763, and coveredH3680[H8762] it with a clothH899.	[13]Then Michal took an image, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow stuffed with goats' hair under the head of it, and covered it with a cloth.
[14]And when SaulH7586 sentH7971[H8799] messengersH4397 to takeH3947[H8800] DavidH1732, she saidH559[H8799], He is sickH2470.[H8802]	[14]And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.
[15]And SaulH7586 sentH7971[H8799] the messengersH4397 again to seeH7200[H8800] DavidH1732, sayingH559[H8800], Bring him upH5927[H8685] to me in the bedH4296, that I may slayH4191 himH8687.	[15]And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
[16]And when the messengersH4397 were come inH935[H8799], behold, there was an imageH8655 in the bedH4296, with a pillowH3523 of goats'H5795 hair for his bolsterH4763.	[16]And when the messengers were come in, behold, an image was in the bed, with a pillow of goats' hair under the head of it.
[17]And SaulH7586 saidH559[H8799] unto MichalH4324, Why hast thou deceived me soH7411[H8765], and sent awayH7971[H8762] mine enemyH341[H8802], that he is escapedH4422[H8735]? And MichalH4324 answeredH559[H8799] SaulH7586, He saidH559[H8804] unto me, Let me goH7971[H8761]; why should I killH4191 theeH8686?	[17]And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou mocked me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go, or else I will kill thee.
[18]So DavidH1732 fledH1272[H8804], and escapedH4422[H8735], and cameH935[H8799] to SamuelH8050 to RamahH7414, and toldH5046[H8686] him all that SaulH7586 had doneH6213[H8804] to him. And he and SamuelH8050 wentH3212[H8799] and dweltH3427[H8799] in NaiothH5121.	[18]So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him: and he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
[19]And it was toldH5046[H8714] SaulH7586, sayingH559[H8800], Behold, DavidH1732 is at NaiothH5121 in RamahH7414.	[19]But one told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.
[20]And SaulH7586 sentH7971[H8799] messengersH4397 to takeH3947[H8800] DavidH1732: and when they sawH7200[H8799] the companyH3862 of the prophetsH5030 prophesyingH5012[H8737], and SamuelH8050 standingH5975[H8802] as appointedH5324[H8737] over them, the SpiritH7307 of GodH430 was upon the messengersH4397 of SaulH7586, and they also prophesiedH5012.[H8691]	[20]And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw a company of prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God fell upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
[21]And when it was toldH5046[H8686] SaulH7586, he sentH7971[H8799] otherH312 messengersH4397, and they prophesiedH5012[H8691] likewise. And SaulH7586 sentH7971[H8799] messengersH4397 againH3254[H8686] the thirdH7992 time, and they prophesiedH5012 alsoH8691.	[21]And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise: again Saul sent the third messengers, and they prophesied also.
[22]Then wentH3212[H8799] he also to RamahH7414, and cameH935[H8799] to a greatH1419 wellH953 that is in SechuH7906: and he askedH7592[H8799] and saidH559[H8799], WhereH375 are SamuelH8050 and DavidH1732? And one saidH559[H8799], Behold, they be at NaiothH5121 in RamahH7414.	[22]Then went he himself to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu, and he asked, and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.
[23]And he wentH3212[H8799] thither to NaiothH5121 in RamahH7414: and the SpiritH7307 of GodH430 was upon him also, and he wentH3212[H8799] onH1980[H8800], and prophesiedH5012[H8691], until he cameH935[H8800] to NaiothH5121 in RamahH7414.	[23]And he went thither, even to Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God came upon him also, and he went prophesying until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
[24]And he stripped offH6584[H8799] his clothesH899 alsoH1571, and prophesiedH5012[H8691] beforeH6440 SamuelH8050 in like manner, and lay downH5307[H8799] nakedH6174 all that dayH3117 and all that nightH3915. Wherefore they sayH559[H8799], Is SaulH7586 also among the prophetsH5030?	[24]And he stripped off his clothes, and he prophesied also before Samuel, and fell down naked all that day and all that night: therefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
