[1]This but Melkizedeq is king of Salim priest of Alaha Most High and he met Abraham when he returned from the massacre of kings and he blessed him |
[1]FOR this Malki-Zedek is king of Sholim, the priest of Aloha the Most High. And he [it was who] met Abraham when he returned from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him. |
[2]And to him distributed Abraham a tenth of everything that was with him is interpreted but his name king of righteousness and again king of Salim which is king of peace |
[2]And to him Abraham separated the tenth from every thing which he had with him. Now his name, being expounded, [is,] the King of Righteousness; and again, MalekSholem, which is, King of peace: |
[3]Without his father and without his mother being written in the genealogies neither beginning of his days nor end of his life but in the likeness of The Son of Alaha remains his priesthood for eternity |
[3]Whose father and mother were not written in the genealogies; neither the beginning of his days, nor the conclusion of his life; but in the likeness [of that] of THE SON OF ALOHA standeth his priesthood for ever. |
[4]But how much? greater is this one than Abraham chief of the fathers to him he gave the tithe of the best |
[4]But see how great this (person was,) that Abraham, head of the fathers, gave to him the tenths and the choicest things. |
[5]Those for of the sons of Levi who received have priesthood a commandment there was to them of The Written Law to take a tenth part from the people those of their brethren as also those from the loins of Abraham had come forth |
[5]For they of the sons of Levi who have received the priesthood, have a commandment of the law to receive tenths from the people, they from their brethren, they also from the loins of Abraham having sprung. |
[6]This one but who not is written in their genealogies a tithe received from Abraham and blessed him him who received the promise |
[6]But he who is not written in their genealogies took tithes from ABRAHAM, and blessed him who had received the promise. |
[7]Without dispute but he who is lesser is blessed of him who is greater than he |
[7]But, without controversy, he who is less is blessed by one who is Greater than himself. |
[8]And here the children of men who die receive tithes there but he testify about whom the scriptures that lives he |
[8]And here the sons of men who die receive the tithes; but there [it was] he concerning whom the scripture testifieth that he liveth. |
[9]And as a man let us say by Abraham also Levi he who tithes receives was also He was caused to tithe |
[9]And as one may say, by the hand of Abraham, even Levi, he who taketh tithes, himself also is tithed. |
[10]Yet for in the loins he was of his father when he met him Melkizedeq |
[10]For he was yet in the loins of his father when he met Malki-Zedek. |
[11]If is therefore perfection by the priesthood of Levi it was for by it was established the written Law to the people Why? needed was priest another to arise in the image of Melkizedeq does it say? but that in the image of Aaron he would be |
[11]If, therefore, Perfectionⓘ were to be through the priesthood of the Levoyee, by which the law has been put upon the people, why was there another Priest required, who should arise in the resemblance of Malki-Zedek? For he had said, In the likeness of Aharun he shall be. |
[12]But just as there was a change in the priesthood in this way there was a change also in the law |
[12]But as a change hath been made in the priesthood, so is there also a change made in the law. |
[13]He for of whom were said about him these words from tribe is another is born that a man ever from it not ministered at the altar |
[13]For he concerning whom these things are said was born from another tribe, from which no man hath ministered at the altar. |
[14]Revealed it is for that from Yehuda arose our Lord from a tribe that not spoke about which Moses anything concerning priesthood |
[14]For it is manifest that from Jihuda arose our Lord, from the tribe of whom Musha hath said nothing concerning priesthood. |
[15]And moreover again it is apparent by this that He said that in the image of Melkizedeq arises Priest another |
[15]And again: it is more fully known by that whichⓘ hath said, In the likeness of MalkiZedek ariseth another Priest; |
[16]He who not was by The Law of commandments carnal was but by the power of Life that not is destroyed |
[16]Who was made not by the law of bodily commandments, but in the power of a life which is indissoluble. |
[17]He testified for about Him "You are The Priest for eternity in the image of Melkizedeq |
[17]For he testifieth concerning him, Thou art a Priest for evermore according to the likeness of Malki-Zedek. |
[18]A change but there was to the order first because of its impotence and benefit there not was in it |
[18]BUT the change which was made in the first institution was on account of its powerlessness, and because profit was not in it. |
[19]Anything for not perfects The Written Law entered but in its place hope which is greater than it in which we approach to Alaha |
[19]For the law perfected nothing: but instead of it a hope has entered which is more excellent, [and] by which we are brought nigh unto Aloha. |
[20]And He confirmed it to us by an oath |
[20]And he hath confirmed it unto us in an oath. |
[21]Those for without an oath were priests This One but with an oath as He said to Him by David "has sworn the Lord and not will lie that You are Priest to eternity in the image of Melkizedeq |
[21]For they were made priests without an oath; but this [one] with an oath: as he said unto him by the hand of David, The Lord hath sworn and will not lie, that thou art the Priest for ever in the likeness of Malki-Zedek. |
[22]This all is better covenant this is by which The Guarantor Ieshu |
[22]In all this more excellent is the covenant of [which] Jeshu is the sponsor.ⓘ |
[23]And those were priests many because dying they were and not allowed were to continue |
[23]There were [moreover] many [high] priests, because they were dying, and were not permitted to remain. |
[24]This One but because eternal He is not passes away His priesthood |
[24]But because this [one] standeth for ever, his priesthood passeth not away. |
[25]And He can give life for eternity to those who come near by Him to Alaha lives He for in every time and He offers prayers in our place |
[25]And he is able to save for eternity them who approach by him unto Aloha; for he liveth through all time, and offereth up prayers on their behalf. |
[26]That as This for Priest also right was for us pure without malice and without defilement Who is separate from sin and exalted higher than Heaven |
[26]For such an High Priest as this was adequate for us; pure, and without evil, and without spot; who was separate from sins, and exalted higher than heaven. |
[27]And there is not to Him compulsion every day as Chief The Priests first because of his sins to offer sacrifice and then for the people This One for did it one time in His Life which He offered |
[27]With him there was no necessity daily, like the chief of the priests, that first for his own sins he should offer sacrifices, and then on behalf of the people: for this [last] he did once when in himself he offered. |
[28]The Law for men does weak establish priests the word but of the oath that was after The Law The Son perfect into eternity |
[28]For the law constituted infirm men priests; but the word of the oath, which was subsequent to the law, [hath constituted] THE SON perfect for evermore. |
